SkyLift

The Best Seat In Gatlinburg

The Gatlinburg SkyLift transports guests from the heart of downtown Gatlinburg up 1,800 feet above sea-level to the top of Crockett Mountain. Throughout the 10-minute ride on our famous yellow chairs, passengers have the opportunity to soak in the sights and snap photos of the picturesque scenery unfolding around them. Whether it's the vibrant colors of the changing seasons, the misty valleys below, or the sun casting golden hues across the mountains, each moment offers a new perspective on the natural splendor of the Smokies. As the SkyLift raises guests up the mountain and away from busy, downtown Gatlinburg, visitors are able to slow down, unwind, and appreciate the beauty of the mountains from Tennessee’s #1 Lookout.

As the SkyLift nears the summit, guests can catch a glimpse of the iconic Gatlinburg SkyBridge stretching out across the valley. The ride culminates with a smooth arrival at the top, where visitors can disembark and explore the various attractions and amenities available. Whether it's taking a leisurely stroll across the SkyBridge, enjoying a snack at the SkyCenter , or simply soaking in the panoramic views from the SkyDeck , the SkyLift ride sets the stage for an unforgettable experience in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains.

The Gatlinburg SkyLift was the first four-season scenic chairlift in the South when it opened in 1954 and is now the longest-running attraction in Gatlinburg. It is a must-do experience for thousands of visitors each year, many of whom make a SkyLift ride an annual tradition. Starting as a single-person chair in 1954 then transitioning to a two-seater in the 60s, today’s SkyLift is a smooth, comfortable, three-seat chairlift built in 2017.
